How about knitting hats for Christmas using your own hand spun yarns! You have time to learn and in our day workshop you can learn to spin using a drop spindle as a simple and inexpensive way to make a yarn and, once you have gained a basic skill, is surprisingly productive.

Using natural fleece you will learn how to clean, prepare and card the wool ready for spinning, spin and ply a yarn, wind into a hank and wash.

We will cover all the essentials so that you will be ready to practice at home and build your skills.

Please bring: a drop spindle (top whorl or bottom whorl), carders, apron, notebook.

Other useful items to bring: 2 x tennis balls.

As part of the workshop you will be supplied with fleece for spinning.

Start as a beginner and go home as a spinner!
