Continue to develop your rigid heddle weaving skills by learning 'pick up' patterns.  You will warp and weave in one day to create a sampler / wall hanging based on pick up patterns. This course is suitable for beginner / intermediate weavers who are looking to do something different with their rigid heddle looms.  In one day, you will work your tutor, Sarah, to warp up and create a small rigid heddle wool sampler or wallhanging based on a series of pick up patterns.  These techniques are useful in designing scarfs and shawls, or even producing woven fabrics for making garments.

Materials provided: Supplemental materials such as wool locks and some yarns.

Bring your own: rigid heddle loom, 7.5dpi reed,  & loom equipment (shuttles x 3, threading hook, warping peg & clamp), a weaving or 'pick up' stick, scissors, a selection (at least 3 colours) of wool or wool/acrylic blend yarns. 

Please note: If you would like to try a loom we have a couple Ashford rigid heddle looms that can be used on the day for this workshop, but they are limited so get in touch to see if you can borrow a loom and then book your place!

It is recommended that you have knowledge of warping up and plain weave in preparation for this workshop.
