Our young designers days are created for young people, ages 13 to 18, interested in design. 

These sessions give you the opportunity to develop skills associated with textiles.  Our August workshop day will focus on ‘STITCH to DYE’. In a day, you will be learning 'shibori' stitching techniques and dyeing your fabrics to create this Japanese style patterning.

We will start by learning some of the stitch patterns in the morning.  

Then, in the afternoon, you will dye your fabrics with opportunities for more stitching.

Materials provided: cotton fabrics, thread, dye materials and equipment.

**We also have 2 basic sewing machines that will be available on the day for those who do not have their own sewing machine.

Bring your own: basic sewing kit (needle, threads, pins), sewing machine & manual (if you have one - it is not essential for this workshop much of the stitching can be done by hand).
