Our young designers days are created for young people, ages 13 to 18, interested in design. 

These sessions give you the opportunity to develop skills associated with textiles.  The third workshop day, in March, will focus on ‘FOLD & STITCH’. 

We will start by joining fabrics with basic patchwork techniques in the morning, developing sewn embellishments and then in the afternoon use your fabric designs to make a small pouch/bag by folding, sewing and adding a zipper.

Materials provided: calico & cotton remnants, 5" zipper, various threads for sewing and embroidery.  

**We also have 2 basic sewing machines that will be available on the day for those who do not have their own sewing machine.

Bring your own: basic sewing kit (needle, threads, pins), sewing machine & manual (if you have one), fabric scissors, a small selection of fabrics (ideally cotton) and threads, if you have specific patterns and colours in mind. A sketchbook, pencil and coloured pencil are also useful.
