Our young designers days are created for young people, ages 13 to 18, interested in design. 

These sessions give you the opportunity to develop skills associated with textiles. The first workshop day, in January, will focus on ‘sewing’. 

We will start by learning basic stitches both by hand and machine but each young designer creates their own fabric collage either by hand or machine.

Materials provided: calico, remnant fabrics, interfacing, various threads for sewing and embroidery.  

**We also have 2 basic sewing machines that will be available on the day for those who do not have their own sewing machine.

Bring your own: basic sewing kit (needle, threads, pins), sewing machine & manual (if you have one), fabric scissors, a small selection of fabric pieces and threads, if you have specific patterns and colours in mind. A sketchbook, pencil and coloured pencil are also useful.
