Stitching can include a range of materials and recycled elements can appear as jewel-like elements in a design.  Have you considered how you might you use everyday objects like straws, milk bottle cartons, golden tomato purée tubes, buttons, beach flotsam, plastic lids, old cords and ribbons, etc. The materials options can be endless and inspiring.  During this one-day workshop you will work with tutor Kate Philbin to create an embroidered hoop design with hand stitching, printing and innovative materials. Join us for a mix of stitch and experimentation.

Materials included:. A variety of recycled materials for making additional elements. Monoprinting materials and some additional threads, fabrics and other materials.

Bring your own: 8” embroidery hoop, basic sewing kit (needles, threads, thimble, scissors, etc), pen, notepad/sketchbook, tape/stapler, pins, and a variety of embroidery threads. When collecting your recycled materials consider the list in the description alongside shee…
